Back To School

With so many children going back to school, families are looking at their childcare needs not only for basic childcare, but for homework help, and tutoring.  That's one of the great things about the au pair program--you as the host family can put that on the list of your au pair's responsibilities.

No more having to come home from work only to sit down and spend the next few hours helping your kids with their homework because your au pair has already done that.  Host Families have commented to me on several occasions how wonderful it is to be able to spend quality time with their children doing fun activities such as going out to throw a ball, take a walk, play some games, or simply have a heart to heart on the front porch.

If you plan on having your au pair help your children with their homework, be sure to consider that when selecting your au pair.  Depending on how old your children are, you'll want to make sure the person you choose has the skills and knowledge needed to tutor and help your children.  Go Au Pair has many au pairs that are college graduates--so look at what they studied and see what fits best for your situation.  Be sure to ask detailed questions when you interview the au pairs to be sure that they are willing and able to perform this responsibility to your satisfaction.
